Expirience (bad) with OETIKER clamps

Recommended Posts

So, I did it - buy some clamps and side jaw pincers. There was no manual, so, I just experimenting, and, yet, didnt find the way.

So, for ripcord housing and 1-EAR OETIKER CLAMP. The hole in side jaw pincers much bigger then diameter of housing, so I can move housing in clamp after installation.

For cutaway housing and twin clamp. As I understand, I have to place thin side of the jaws in between housing and press jaws. But I just damage aluminium clamp..

So - any ideas, diagrams, manual will be the great help...
Thanks....

The one sold via PGA is not the best for this. The one we used has a hole in the middle of the jaws as you can see on the pic attached.

The dual purpose Side Jaw Pincer design allows clamps to be applied or removed in confined areas with pincers held parallelto the hose. It may also be used like Standard Jaw Pincers.
For extremely tight areas, a new Narrow Jaw Pincer (3/8"jaw width) is also available -

I just find a tool for presize dimension.

inside diameter 1-ear clamp after installation - 10 mm.

outside diameter of ripcord housing with AL ferrule (like RI uses) - 9,8 mm (clamp can be moved by housing ferrule)
outside diameter of ripcord housing with brass ferrule (like Para-Gear sells) - 9,3 mm (clamp do not hold housing at all)
