Fozz 0 #1 February 21, 2007 …go to any 3 boogies this summer If you were looking for fun relaxed group and great scenery?(i.e plenty of fun but no insanity) If you just got you “A” card and had never been to a boogie before and wanted to be smart and safe about it If you had a budget and time but wanted to maximize both? Which ones? Why?John Fosgate "In the end, its always best to choose the hard right over the easy wrong." LouDiamond MB 4310 www.N3Racing.com
NWFlyer 2 #2 February 21, 2007 Just got your license - Skyfest is geared toward you. Scenery - can't beat Lost Prairie (but I can't promise the "no insanity" part). Fun, relaxed, and great scenery ... smaller boogie, I'd go to the All of the Above Boogie at Skydive Oregon. But that's just me. And I just looked at your profile and saw you're in NorCal - lots of Norcal folks will go to both LP and Oregon."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. monkycndo 0 #3 February 21, 2007 If you want to stay relatively local, go to the American Boogie at Davis, the Byron Boogie at Byron(duh) and absolutely don't miss the 40th annual Lost Prairie Boogie in Montana. You'll see me at all three.50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
johnsw71 0 #4 February 22, 2007 Davis isn't too far down the road (June), so definitely check that out -- great planes and a huge crowd with all different levels. If you live in Sac, I'd recommend jumping there a few times first with a normal-size crowd. If you're at Lodi and can successfully avoid the interstate and the grape vine stakes, then you'll have no problem avoiding the rifle range next to the LZ at Davis. Where is Skyfest, Krisanne? NWFlyer 2 #5 February 22, 2007 Quote Where is Skyfest, Krisanne? It's in Houston. I've never been but everyone says great things about it and it's focused on great opportunities for new jumpers."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Fozz 0 #6 February 22, 2007 Well Lost Prairie is 1044 miles 18 hr drive doable and likely, doesn't hurt that two others recommended it too! anybody want a ride?(non-stop) Oregon yes 568 miles 9 hrs easy money again anybody want a ride? Skyfest conflicts with 2 other events but I might get out of one and fly in for that one if I can get a cheap flight. Davis and Byron are both a yes if the rest of my world doesn't cave in. Any other ideas are welcome!!John Fosgate "In the end, its always best to choose the hard right over the easy wrong." NWFlyer 2 #8 February 22, 2007 Quotewhen is the davis and byron boogies? maybe i will have to give another visit to my gf those weekends. American is in June (usually last weekend of June, I think) and Byron is in the fall (was October last year but September the year before)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please.
