kelel01 1 #1 February 22, 2007 I am such a dork, but I'm having a really good time with my online travel writing class. And I'll keep having fun until I learn that I suck at it, as that's the way my life always goes. I'm easily discouraged.
Lindercles 0 #2 February 22, 2007 Um, what exactly constitutes an "online travel writing course?"
cocheese 0 #3 February 22, 2007 Post some of your work so we can help you get discouraged.
kelel01 1 #4 February 22, 2007 Information given by an instructor, supplemental material recommendations, quizzes, graded writing assignments, a discussion forum (where you can post your assignments for others and your instructor to read and critique) and a final exam. Lindercles 0 #5 February 22, 2007 Thanks for being literal. I guess what I meant was, "what is travel writing?"
kelel01 1 #6 February 22, 2007 Sorry. I really wasn't being a smartass. I thought you were wondering how an online class worked. Travel writing - ummmm . . . like the writing in travel magazines, or on InternationalLiving.com. They tell about everything from personal experiences, to places to stay and/or eat, to vacation homes, pretty much anything. It's kind of funny, the things they write about sometimes. I subscribe to a newsletter for IL.com, and some of the stories seem pointless, but they're still fascinating. I met a full-time travel writer while I was in Bangkok, and he just lives the coolest, most interesting life.
Lindercles 0 #7 February 22, 2007 I bet he gets all kinds of ass, too. Note to self: become travel writer.
kelel01 1 #8 February 22, 2007 He definitely would (as he's easy on the eyes), but he's had a serious GF for years.
