"Jumping the shark" generally refers to when a television series has lost its edge and does something drastic to try and improve ratings. It's a direct reference to the show "Happy Days" when The Fonz, on water skis, jumped over a shark.

I've used the term here to indicate postwhoring turns for the worse.

The Jumping the shark is meant to be a "Last Ditch" effort, usually on a Grand scale, it cant be something someone else does
