tomvailco 0 #1 November 21, 2006 Just got off AFF, looking for a jumpsuit. I've been looking at the tony suits swoop suit the most. Are grips important right now? Any suggestions?
Remster 30 #2 November 21, 2006 Did you do a search? We covered this a few times here, and the RW forum. Basically, yes, grippers are important, so are booties.Remster
woodpecker 0 #3 November 22, 2006 Booties ROCK. I jumped my new suit sunday (first time jumping with booties) and what a difference. Talk about total control. WOW!!!!! Defin. get booties. You wont regret it.SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?
rehmwa 2 #4 November 22, 2006 I always wonder why people post for suits in the riggers forum. Here's a good thread = my opinions are pretty obvious in it. My wife makes RW and FF suits (and weightbelts and, etc, etc, etc,) so I've learned a ton about it in the last couple years from the other side. Figure out your goals in the sport and get the suit to match. Options are easy to buy now and really hard to add later. I'll always recommend the full comp set up like I note in the post. Someone tries to sell you a suit without booties now is just angling for selling you a suit in a few months when you realize not getting booties was a bad choice. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1764010#1764010 ... kkeenan 14 #5 November 22, 2006 At your experience level, it's really more important to get jumps and more experience than to have a sophisticated jumpsuit. If you are of average build, it is fairly easy to find a used suit at a good price and save your money for jumps. No matter how good you are, you will have landings in your first year that may be hard on gear and jumpsuit. It's a shame to pay $500 for a new jumpsuit, only to rip the knees out in a week. If you paid $50 for one, the rips are easier to take. The same is true for gear. Kevin_____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Can I be on your ash jump ?
