MF42 0 #26 February 25, 2007 Okay, I was actually getting concerned for a minute there... The wind hasn't slowed at all for several hours; the building is still shaking. And now I've got sleet and freezing rain sticking to everything in sight. Thought I heard a window breaking in the vacant apartment next door, so went to investigate... and it took ten minutes to open my front door because it was frozen shut! All the windows look ok. Not sure what I heard, and it's not worth setting foot outside again. Matt
eeneR 3 #27 February 25, 2007 It turned to all rain by me overnight. Not ALL that bad. Not good, but it could have been A HELL of A LOT worse then it was.She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
SpeedRacer 1 #28 February 25, 2007 well, it's 11:30 AM here in Maryland, and so far we're getting nice fluffy snow, but it's supposed to turn to ice/rain/crap this afternoon. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
iluvtofly 0 #29 February 25, 2007 Here in western Pennsylvania it's not precipitating anymore but everything is covered in a thin layer of ice. Earlier when I went out onto my porch I took two steps and fell right on my ass. I'm still debating about trying to go to the gym. The wind sounds really bad but that's all there is right now. Snowwhite 0 #30 February 25, 2007 Hey Squeak, I suck at the techno crap, but the pics that Samaurai took could have been my front yard, especially the one that says "tree close up" I lost my power early last evening and JUST got it back. The inside of my house was 50 degrees, but that didn't matter because I have been outside shoveling for my clients, and breaking up the icejams in the street so if it freezes again, we don't have a big icerink right by where we park all of our cars. My trees were all groaning under the weight of the ice, which started melting off of them about 7 this morning, but now it is raining/freezing/snowing again, so we may be in for it all over again. At least we didn't get the 5 inches of snow they were talking about. If we had, there wouldn't have been a tree in town that could have taken that weight. I'd have to have Cocheese come and help me saw stuff up!skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
Snowwhite 0 #31 February 25, 2007 long night without power, and the morning was nuts. The few restaurants that had power were PACKED, but most everywhere was without. They said about 80,000 of us without it.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
Snowwhite 0 #32 February 25, 2007 QuoteSex. Hospitals usually record lots of births 9 mos after a blackout. :) Hard to have sex alone. Well, guess not really, but it would have been more fun if I was stuck with Streaker. He was in Superior Wisc, where they got 10 inches of snow instead.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
Samurai136 0 #33 February 25, 2007 Sorry to hear you lost power. Here are a few more pic's once the storm switched over to snow. About 3 am the Apt managment plowed everything out. By 9am all the ice had melted off that tree."Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
Snowwhite 0 #34 February 26, 2007 Cool pics! Looks like some giant peed all over your trees and it froze. It's quiet here now. I have a little more shoveling to do in th morning and it'll be spring in a couple of days.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
