Newbie 0 #1 November 11, 2006 On the Odyssey order form there is an option for a rig bag for the rig you are ordering for $100 which is not a bad price, but what is the functionality and quality of the bag like? If anyone has any idea, please could you let me know. Thanks "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
airgord 1 #2 November 12, 2006 Is it just the backpack or is it the gearbag? The backpack is nice to keep your spare clips, porn mags and your beer opener in. They were only 45 bucks just a couple years ago, they were really well made but not 100 bucks worth.

Jumpah 0 #4 November 12, 2006 I got one with my Odyssey...it fits the rig, and has a large pocket on the outside that can fit your other equipment, camera, log book, gloves, packing mat, etc. Inside the bag along the side against your back is a large flat pocket suitable for your rig manual or other paperwork. Helmet fits in the main compartment with the rig. The shoulder straps are strong and padded. It also has a cloth handle along one of the long sides. The color, lettering, and striping matches your rig coloring. I'm glad I have it to keep everything in one place and contained.

I think they are still doing the rig bags too for about $50 if i remember what it said on the order form correctly. wonder2006 0 #6 November 13, 2006 I just got one with my Odyssey and happy with it. Mine is primarily black (as is my rig) with some detail in the colour of the pinstripes and other colour detail I have on my rig to match (so it's not loud!). Haven't tried with my helmet in, but do have logbook, paperwork, and big bulky freefly suit packed in and there is still room. I think it's good for the price (altho my gear bag took 3 weeks longer than my rig to be made!)

Jumpah 0 #8 November 13, 2006 No problem...I'll get a couple pics in the next day or two and I'll give you appx measurements all filled up. It has one big pocket on the outside. Inside, the part that is along your back when wearing it is a zippered compartment with the zipper on the inside. This is only suitable for something like the rigs manual, or maybe the USPA SIM. Ironically...Odyssey's come with a CD, not a manual... It's a good size bag...I have an Odyssey J4.5 (190 main, 193 reserve) with all the articulation options and the spacer foam...the straps easily fold onto themselves and out of the way. I put the rig in so the pins are against my back, and the rig's straps are towards the front pocket of the backpack. My Rawa helmet (large, no camera box) goes between the shoulder straps of the rig. It should still fit once I get the box on it, but I'm not sure just yet. I do not keep my RW suit in there as I generally keep clothing in a duffel bag. I suspect I could get it in there below the helmet, so long as the grippers are arranged inside the rig's straps. My freefly pants fit in the front pocket along with log book, gloves, alti, etc. I personally feel its a good investment for $100. I can't compare it to other gear bags, simply due to ignorance of the other products on the market. I am glad I got it and feel it was money well spent.
