warpedskydiver 0 #1 March 6, 2007 Ok, what can be used that is cheaper and reusable? What ideas can you guys come up with? It needs to be somewhat translucent, could be illuminated by a large light source if necessary.

warpedskydiver 0 #7 March 6, 2007 They buy ballistic gel, kind of pricey. Let alone the cost of a skeleton. Maybe I can round up a lab skeleton that is unusable anymore.??
freefallfreak 0 #8 March 6, 2007 Gasoline and Ivory Flakes (soap detergent) along with a little black gunpowder for visuals. I don't think it's reusuable, though. Just don't stand too close. IanHarrop 42 #10 March 6, 2007 QuoteSteal a pig! As for 'reusable'...just wound him a little!! Reminds me of a joke.... A farmer was in the bar bragging about his pig. "That animal saved my life twice," he said. "Once I fell into the river and he jumped in and dragged me to the bank. Another time my house caught on fire and he ran in and saved me, the wife and kids." The farmer passes around a picture of the miraculous animal. One of the guys notices the pig is missing a leg. "Which accident did the pig lose its leg in?" he asks. "Neither. An animal like that you don't eat all at once!""Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

JohnRich 4 #12 March 6, 2007 Are you trying to see the wound channel? If you just want to recover bullets and check penetration, you can soak old phone books in water until they're mushy, shoot at them, then pull them apart to remove the bullets. Scoop 0 #15 March 6, 2007 I saw a balistics gel sample we have in the armoury of the damage a hollow point 5.56 fired from a G36 does. The entry wound was big enough to put your fist in but it didn't penetrate out the back which was good in the sense of public safety. I'd like to see what the effects of different rounds/weapon combos would be. Please post pics when you done it!

willard 0 #23 March 6, 2007 Cats. Or modeling clay. It's kinda heavy, kind of a pain, but it does the job if you are willing to slice it with a wire after each shot to see the results.
