ladyskydiver 0 #1 March 8, 2007 to get the pre-reqs for vet school...I received the last response from the schools I applied at. It's 3 for 3...rejected. I know that it's exceptionally hard to get into vet school. There were over 800 people that applied for 80 slots at the last school. It still sucks. So, I guess that once this semester is over with, I'm back to working 35+ hours a week...until I can get back into school. **sigh** Think I'm going to go have a drink.Life is short! Break the rules! skybytch 273 #2 March 8, 2007 Awww, what a bummer. Have that drink (or three) but don't give up! When's the next time you can apply? Can you apply to more/other schools?

Bolas 5 #5 March 9, 2007 Look at it this way: Only working around 40 hours a week will seem like a vacation to you. You can use it to relax and be refreshed and ready for next time. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
ladyskydiver 0 #6 March 9, 2007 QuoteHave that drink (or three) but don't give up! When's the next time you can apply? Can you apply to more/other schools? I can reapply this fall. Applications become available usually in June with the deadline of October. I can apply for as many vet schools as I want as long as I have the pre-reqs. Just gets a tad expensive. Oh, well...I'll have some time of having a "regular" (although 3rd shift) schedule. Hmmm...wonder what sleep feels like?Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! ACMESkydiver 0 #14 March 9, 2007 QuoteQuote-and when I get an animal, you can be our doggy doctor any day. awww...thanks. How's your doggy search going? Meh... After narrowly avoiding the rip-off company (thank goodness some people posted their bad experiences, or we woulda been out $13,500 that we're going to raise from the community! ) we are still searching... I found a Golden Lab (purebred agility Lab Sire to purebred Golden Retriever bitch) breeder in Indiana that has one pup that she was holding out for agility and trials as it was the most promising of her pups...but she said she would sell her to us instead seeing as we are looking for the exact breed and temperament she has. We'll see! It's still $700 plus freight to get puppy home, but that's better than $13,500, let me tell ya... She mentioned, and I agree, that the most KEY point I think would be for our sons to have a friend; the service part might come later. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Cora, you're smart, patient, driven, and determined. You'll get in. Shit, girl, you managed OChem without wigging out. I can't even fathom when I have to tackle that...I'll be crying every damned day, all day... Look, it's hard to get into the schools. So, take some time, see if you can't take a bit of a break over the summer, and start afresh next time round. You'll make it; you're too perfect for vet school to not, you know? And have your rum drink...I just came in from hours of Microbio lab, and if I didn't have to study a bit now, I'd join you. Instead, I've got to figure out what went wrong with my neg stain, and see if I can't get some microscope time tomorrow and redo it. And then it's on to prepare for two exams next week - micro and physio. Sigh...so have a second rum drink for me, all right? You'll make it next time 'round...no doubt. Hugs. ladyskydiver 0 #19 March 9, 2007 QuoteJust gets a tad expensive. ??? not sure app fees? App fees - the VMCAS (main app) and supplemental apps, transcript fees and GRE scores (cost to have the GRE send the scores to the schools) - can get a tad expensive which is why I limited it to 3 when I applied. Oh, well...time to save up - sleep, money, energy... - and start the process all over again this fall.Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably.
