Zing 2 #5 March 10, 2007 Well, since only the first page of six comes up, I can't comment on the entire article, but the writer's opinion, on the first page, that the Cyperes made skydiving safer, but jumpers found a new way to make it dangerous is erroneous. It seems to me, that the writer is concluding that the Cyperes made skydiving so boring to jumpers that it created swooping and hook turn incidents, when clearly it is advances in canopy aerodynamics that has lead to the increased number of landing fatalities and injuries. The writer's logic is flawed. Isn't there a thread or two around here where the swoopers and hook turners don't use an automatic opener because it increases the chance of an accidental deployment at a highly undesireable time?Zing Lurks

I know exactly what you mean by that. There was a similar presentation on General Skydiving and me and my friends talk about that (CYPRES introduction) beeing a debatable example. But ... (there's always a but ) the article talk about skydiving only in the 1st pageI still think it's a good article but that's only my oppinion edit: spellingLock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
