Thinking about entering a photo contest

#3 gets my vote, although # 4 with the rainbow is stunning. #1 needs more foreground in my opinion.

Nice pics.

I agree, and also think #4 needs more foreground, the setting of the rainbow and contrast with it being more interesting than the colors by themselves.

I like them all. They are "nice" photos.
If I were you I would study the works of Ansel Adams. The man seemed to understand the concept of "A picture is worth a thousand words".

Okay, some people have the "eye" some don't.
Setting, composition etc. I don't have it but I think it can be learned or acquired by some.
I've got a friend that takes a shitload of pictures. Over the years her photos have matured into quality stuff.
Take a ton of pictures and be your own worse critic.
You'll know it when you see it.

I like # 3 the best. I guess it would depend on what kind of contest. I love clouds so I just snap away too don't you just love digital cameras :D If I were you I would print all those and start a cloud photo book just for your enjoyment or it would make a great coffee table book. I want to do that with mine just havn't got around to it yet:S:D

I like #3 the best. If #1 had more of the terrain, I think that would be awesome. You got the top of the catus, but the whole think would have been cool. Good luck! ;)

the man also had very nice equipment and as I understand it originally planned on being a professional piano player.

thank goodness for all of us budding photographers that he got inspired by the Yosemite National Park (among other places) and took a different path... B|

I like # three the best as well... I really enjoy landscapes and would sooo love to have a view camera... a nice 8x10 would just about be perfect...:)

all I need is the $10k dollars to put together a good 8x10 inch field camera... B|

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to diss her photos.
Maybe I can explain it best with Rob Stewart's lyrics "Every picture tells a story, story".

I know what looks nice and says what is in the artists soul at the time they took the photo. I just can't express it with the the cumbersome English language.
