The second one is a 'snake plant' and they are supposedly easy to care for. I killed mine in 2003.

The first is a philodendron and they are supposedly unkillable. He don't look so good. Low light for them both and where did you get them? (mine just died in a cat related incident 2 months ago).~~April
P.S. I'm not a plant doctor, I just play one on the internet.

Well the one you said was a "snake plant was rescued from Gaint Eagle(a grocery store). It was place at the entrance in a basket mared "Save a Plant think I picked it up for 99 cents. Looke bad,and the roots where busting through the platic pot in was in. I replanted it and water it and feed it with some 20-20-20 plant food.
Now the on you say is a philodendron was ginen to us by my mother-in-law. It had 2 real heathy looking vines with nice green leaves. The origanal 2 vines were a play toy when we had a kitty,so tht took care of that. Then the one vine in the pic started to look good after kitty left, now starting to wilt. But at the base ,don't know if it shows on the pics is 8 new big leafs, very green and healthy looking.
My wife does have the 1st on in the widow in the sunlight all the time

April,ok listen to this. I'll have to send ya pick of another "rescued unkown plant. We got it and it look great, the only instruvtion wher not to get the foliage wet.Well we don't know what happened, but it was full of flower and goin great then DEAD,I mean DEAD!
So I took the planter to the basement,no heat around 20 degrees and left it there. A month later I happenned to take a look and it was cold, the soil was so dry it was solid, couldn't stick a knife in it. The thins were growing like hell, now they areabout 4" high and ready to flower, don't know what tha one is either.
Hey that's for ID'ing the foilage.

Thats really odd.

Throw your wallet in the basement and see if your money grows! (Kidding, send the pic. I may KNOW what to do with it and it may survive if I'm not in the same city with it--its the CAT, I tells ya!)~~April
