Had a argument with my son today over strawberrys, He says they are a fruit an I say botanically they are a vegetable,

I think the son is looking good.

You can find some references to strawberries questioning if they are fruit but these tend to be the non-scientific ones.

The more scientific articles refer to it as a fruit. By example this article discusses strawberries and its by a botanist

Interestingly enough, Friday night I had a sushi roll that had strawberries on the outside. It's one of the best things I have ever had in my life.
