How to sell my rig over the internet?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a Atom00 rig for sale with a Triathlon160, Cypres and Tempo150 reserve.
I live in Amsterdam and have no idea where to post an add for selling this complete set. I tried eBay, but no reactions. Which site do I use?

Is there a site in France? Because the rig is common in France. Ideas?

I thinks somebody in US or UK can be very happy with this set, but I do not know how to sell it oversea. Anybody experience with this?

Thanks for reply!
Hanneke

Niet zo moeilijk hoor!

You will have problems selling an Atom to the USA since PdF doesn't sell there.

If you can't sell it yourself you can always get rid of it at www.skydivesupplies for instance or try to sell through the Case or similar.

BTW that reserve is too big for an Atom 00 AFAIK. Atom 00 are made for Techno 128 and similar. Unless a Tempo packs up awfully small...

Reposting an eBay ad targeted to the US, in US dollars, can often get better attention too. But if you are a seller of eBay with 0 feedbacks, people won't trust you unless you've already had a good feedback history (preferably of big ticket items similiar to the price of skydiving gear). eBay can be a really difficult place for a newbie trying to sell a big ticket item right from the onset...

Just a tip regarding eBay. I have only 51 feedback points, but that is enough points to move an approx thousand-dollar item...

Make sure you offer people to let them test-jump your gear: Sometimes people actually travel to visit just to check out skydiving gear ($400 roundtrip airfare for $3000 gear is often worth the peace of mind to many people; and also becomes a bonus foreign-dropzone trip)

Did you ask Eric yet? If you really need to get rid of that rig and it isn't too hard to sell (for instance, a beginner to intermediate skydiver might want it, as in this case), he'll usually offer money. Not as much as you might get selling it yourself, but it's cash :)
