How would you lay out this room? *DIAGRAM!*

Everything is "approximately" to scale, and I'm happy with how it's laid out right now, but I'm going to be adding a TV, probably a 40" or 46" 1080p LCD. It will double as a second display for the computer (I'm buying it for high def video production work, but I figure I'll kill two birds with one stone since I don't have a TV), so I need to have the computer somewhere where I can look at the TV as well, BUT I don't want to have the computer distracting me when I'm watching movies (it'll be a media centre setup.)

In addition to the TV, there is also a 5.1 setup to consider. Right now it's set up with the centre channel on the computer desk, and the other 4 channels in the appropriate corners, subwoofer in the upper right corner of the pic, between couch and wall. Of course this, and any of the furniture, can be moved to make a good setup.

So, any suggestions?

Note: The heater cannot be moved, it's bolted down.

How high is the ceiling? also, can the window be moved in relationship to where the TV is? And more importantly, can you control the motion of afore mentioned window with your remote control? If not, why not? If so, where did you buy your remote control? Cash or credit? Which currency, and will you take a check? If not, will you take Skyride coupons?:)

Okay, but seriously....

You want to put the pot plants on the heater, because it'll be more efficient, and they won't be able to be seen through the window. Put the three-seat couch on the other side of the room because you never want your back facing the door. On the same account, move the computer desk to where you have the couch right now so if someone walks in on you while you're looking at internet porn, you'll have a few seconds to cover yourself.

Keep the 2-seat couch on the same wall but closer to the other wall, which makes putting a keg in the corner between the two couches an absolutely perfect place.

Looks just like the main room in my apartment, just swap location of heater and 3-seat couch. I have a fireplace where your 2-seat couch is , and I got rid of the coffee table. Seemed it was always in the way and only served as the base for a mountain of old newspapers, magazines, books, etc. My computer is in the same spot and my entertainment center w/tv, stereo, etc is in the corner to the left of the computer at a 45 degree angle so it faces the center of the room. I also have a small bookcase at the end of the couch. I've had it like that for 6 months snd it seems to work well.

I always arrange my rooms with this in mind..

I think I learned it from the two gay guys on HGTV

Angle the 3 seater in front of the window
Put the 2 seater where the computer desk is
Coffee table in front of the 2 couches
Put the big screen where the 2 seater is
Put the computer desk to the right of heater

I'd draw that for you but I'm lazy.
