Blue Skies - In Memory Of

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

For lack of a better place The Bonfire (with all that is being discussed there) has become and awkward and mostly unfitting home for our condolences threads when somebody passes away.

I've created a separate forum where we can post memories and tributes to our friends who stayed for a while and left before us. Feel free to post your condolences and upload your favorite photos for us to remember them by.

The Incidents forum remains the place where we remember and learn from the incident. The Blue Skies forum is where we celebrate and remember the person.

We are going to m ove some older condolences threads into that forum over the next few days. Feel free to send one of the mods a link to a thread that belongs in that forum.

Thx. Can it be made like incidents-only accessable by registered members?

Why? What if family members want to view the thread?

Touche'. I was more concerned by the media jackals, vultures, and insects' presence.

Just a note.... there are quite a few threads in the History forum that should or could be moved to the condolences forum.

So true there are a few dearly departed that never made it onto DZ.com

Roger, Henry, and a few others as well.

Sangiro....thank you so much for this. Myself as well as many of us on dz.com have lost a loved one, friend or family member. This will allow us to go and visit them and not have any distractions from the other post with the bonfire. It will allow us to have our own time with them. THANK YOU!!!
If I stand on my tip toes, I can see the weekend from here!

Great idea.

I'd like to see the thread titles standardized, as perhaps containing nothing more than just the name of the person being memorialized. Some of the thread titles don't even include the name, thus making a search for someone, fruitless, in some cases.

P.S. Yeah, I know there's a search feature in the forum, but if you're going to memorialize someone, you start by putting their name in the title of their memorial thread.

Its unfortunate that we need a forum like this. [:/][:/]

In an ideal world, nothing like these accidents would happen

In an ideal world, there would be no car accidents, no boat accidents, no plane crashes, etc. etc....

This is the real world, people die every day in all walks of life.

It would be unfortunate if we did not have a forum to remember our lost friends.

Oh I completely agree. I'm not saying these people dont need to be remembered. The fact that people are so caring to others on this forum is what makes it so great.
