Muenkel 0 #27 March 21, 2007 Let's set the record straight on a few things since there are a lot of assumptions being made about AI that are not backed up by facts. 1. The only money Cowell makes from AI is his salary. He does produce other shows and is involved in producing new talent such as Il Divo. 2. AI does not manipulate the voting. If they did, it would constitute fraud and they would end up in a whole heap of legal shit. 3. Sanjaya is definitely the weakest link this year IMO. He should be given the same chance as the rest of the contestants. His fate should lie in the hands of the voters. 4. Making someone who is just trying to jumpstart a career the butt of jokes is just plain cruel. Just because someone can justify why he should be made a butt of jokes does not make it any less cruel. As I said before, doing that is more indicative of the character of the person who wishes to cause harm at the expense of someone else. 5. AI has become a vehicle for extremely talented artists of various genres to be discovered. There have been quite a few success stories from the past 5 seasons. It wasn't just the winners, but the runner-ups as well. If people were not buying their CD's, then they would not be successful. 6. Once again, if you don't like the show....change the channel. I happen to have access to 185 channels via my satellite service. No one is forcing me to watch AI.
