UK paid Tubby 2 mill a year to coach for us and u of m is offering 2.5 mill a year. All I know is this sucks. I'm a bleed blue type of fan and I'm just curious what this is going to bring us. We take pride in our Wildcats and not knowing who is going to coach them is a little nerve recking. For those of you that are not really into sports, I don't expect you to understand. But I am a woman that loves to head to a local pub, grab a pitcher of beer and watch an awesome game. Until this year, I had lower arena, center season tickets. Its a big deal to us! Anytime you become the coach at one of the top programs in the country, the standard of excellence is very hard to maintain and live up to. Kentucky basketball is like Alabama football. Both have had a legendary coach that others tried to follow and failed to live up to, mainly because the fans are fucking spoiled rotten. Former Alabama coach Gene Stallings did the best of all the post-Bear coaches, winning the '92 national championship and posting a pretty damn good overall record, and might still be the coach now if he hadn't fucked up with the Langham/agent thing among others.... Hopefully Saban is the right coach to handle the fanatical fans and aura around the program. For what its worth, I think Kentucky dropped the ball letting Pitino go. That guy can coach, but he just didn't want to deal with the stupid fanatical fans. Oh and did you know that Bear Bryant was the football coach at Kentucky when Adolf Rupp was the basketball coach?
