DougH 270 #2 October 25, 2006 Used... You are going to find out that for most of the stuff, like the altitrack, every one has the same price. I wouldn't be suprised if that is due to an agreement with L&B!"The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I wouldn't be suprised if that is due to an agreement with L&B! I'd say it's more due to the tight and ever-shrinking margins in the gear sales industry. It is quite a quandry for gear dealers, you can't sell anything at MSRP because no one else does, but you can't cut more than anyone else or you won't make any money at all. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
DougH 270 #4 October 25, 2006 Interesting point... I just "ass"umed that it was from a dealer agreement, because I see other gear besides the L&B stuff with price differences."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

NWFlyer 2 #6 October 25, 2006 Quoteim looking for an alti track, a tony or RWS suit, and a bonehead pimpdaddy or cookie m1, For the helmet and altimeter, you may not need that much guidance and searching around on price isn't necessarily a bad idea. For the suit, however, you will really benefit from working with a dealer who can measure you and help you out with color schemes and patterns and getting the right suit for your body type and skydiving goals. You may also find that working with a dealer will cost you less than going straight to the manufacturer. Eventually you'll be buying a rig, and if you're buying new, you'll go through a dealer, who can provide lots of guidance on manufacturers, options, etc. Buying the "auxilary" stuff might be a good opportunity to begin to build a relationship with a dealer, rather than just buying exclusively on price."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
GravityGirl 0 #7 October 26, 2006 NWFlyer makes a good point. From a dealers perspective... I don't always advertise my best prices on the web site. My best prices go to my lowest maintenance, repeat customers. You do me right, I do you right. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
