freefalle 0 #1 March 25, 2007 Have you ever had one of those days skydiving that made you remember why you started or keep skydiving? We started this morning at Flagler airport, the plane showed up at 10am. There were just three of us jumping, me cocheese, and Randall Shane. The winds were out of the NE at about 10 the sun was shinning and the temp. was perfect. The beach was empty with with the exception of a few people where we were landing. The day rocked, we made 3 nice jumps the view was perfect. No drama, no attitudes, no BS, just good people making awesome skydives and having fun. Looks like we will be doing it again in a couple of weeks and on a regular basis after that.

pinkfairy 0 #5 March 25, 2007 Now where's your flotation device? Other than that it looks awesome. Gotta get myself to a smaller DZ with smaller aircraft and less stress. But I've had great jumps and skydiving days from the big plane too. Just coming up to DZ on friday, hadn't planned to jump that day, thought I'd wait till the day after, then there was a free slot on the sunset load, checked that the pilot was cocked on the rental gear, it was still collapsed, so I cocked and re packed it, was nerveous as hell in the plane, but when I got out at 13 000', all my worries went away. The clouds were like pink cotton candy, and all I was thinking on my way down was how privileged I was to be there. That was just a me-shaped hole in the sky, but it's still one of my greatest jumps. Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet. I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you?
htrammel 0 #6 March 25, 2007 Did you land at Snack Jacks for a beer? Is that place still even there? There is not much better than a nice day of beach jumps at Flagler.

ffejdraga 0 #10 March 26, 2007 Snack jacks! yep, many good times were had back in the day landing there. For about 6 months I worked as staff at Skydive Daytona beach, based at the Flagler airport. It was a great time, I loved doing tandem videos onto the beach, there was nothing better. Oh, actually, there was. THE most memorable jump I ever made. It was new year's eve 1999. Keith Larrett and Fred Brown organized to have an otter for the midnight jumps. We made a practice jump at about 10pm, then packed up, and did the exact same thing, leaving the otter at exactly 11:59:40, 12/31/1999. Our group was a 4way, we launched a 4way HeadDown Round, held it the whole time, yelled Happy new year to each other, and then broke off. As we were tracking there were fireworks below us off the pier. We opened up, landed on the beach, where we were greeted to open beers and hard cider! it was great, and there were a lot of other great memories around that place. Flagler beach holds a special place for me. jeff D-16906
