skybytch 273 #2 October 24, 2006 Quote will I be able to downsize my canopy later, will there be a problem have a smaller canopy in a container sized for a large canopy? In most containers you can safely go down at least one size on the main (most accept two sizes smaller). Quotewhat is a CRW option? Not exactly sure, but probably things like CRW specific toggles, blocks or 2:1's on the risers, retractible pilot chutes, etc. If you aren't doing CRW you don't need them. Quote# what is an SOS reserve handle Single Operation System. It's a system in which pulling one handle performs both the cutaway and reserve activation. Quotewhat is the third risers option Triple risers have three risers on each side instead of two. They were thought to be better for swooping when they first came out; some people still prefer them. You don't need them, even if you plan to swoop.
Guest #3 October 24, 2006 Well first, use the search option and a lot of your questions will probably be answered... I'm still a newbie, so these may not be 100% accuruate, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.. Is the CRW option for a canopy? If so, CREW canopies have my more reinforcing and (i think) different linesets that normal canopies. SOS Reserve handle will cut-away the main and deploy the reserve when you pull it. Third risers option applies mainy to swooping I believe. It's a set of risers behind your "rear" risers for your brake lines to go though...

PhreeZone 20 #5 October 24, 2006 If its not a dedicated CRW rig you don't want the options. Also the SOS is typically only used on student gear or on those people that can only operate with 1 hand. If you place checks on both these on the order form it should set off some alarms at Wings since you do not want an SOS system if you are doing CRW. Exit weight is figured roughly as body weight plus 25 pounds. Seriously talk to your instructors before you order any gear. I know you've got money burning a whole in your pocket now but once you get back to the states and finish the student program your instructors will know more what type of gear you should be looking for. If they say a 210 and you ordered gear for a 190 you are up a creek Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

You'll be able to jump it very soon after A licence and it will last you at least 100 jumps. (Talk to your instructors disclaimer, and wait until you are at least part way through AFF before ordering - you will have a much better idea of what it is you want and need out of your gear).Do you want to have an ideagasm? GravityGirl 0 #8 October 25, 2006 Carefull with what you say. A container built for a 170 will likely NOT fit a 190. A container built for a 190 will likely fit a 170. Each manufacturer is different, but when you build a container for a 170, it implies that you want 170 and smaller as opposed to the other way around. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies!
