kelel01 1 #3 March 26, 2007 Pretty much anything Scientific is measured using the metric system. All of my chemistry classes and labs were metric in ALL measurements. Liquid meds are often dispensed in tablespoons, though.

kelel01 1 #7 March 26, 2007 That's why I said "often". And in my pharm class, we had to know how to convert cc's to teaspoons and tablespoons (and ounces, but since ounces are metric, that's neither here nor there). Sometimes it's just easier and not that important to get it down to a particular cc.

In the US (and abroad?), automobile tires are measured in a combination of metric and standard units. For example: 235 x 75 R15 indicates a radial tire with a tread width of 235 millimeters, a sidewall height 75% of the tread width, made to fit on a 15 inch diameter wheel.Math tutoring available.
