floridadiver81 0 #1 March 31, 2007 Firstly, i ordered their service yesterday morning at approx 10 am. I set the account up..everything is fine. Well i woke up toady about 10:40am and the box was already here! well..i take everything out and i have the modem, power cord and ethernet wire. It is totally wireless like they advertise. They say to have it as close to a window as possible. well..i have it int he middle of the room and still have 4 out of 5 lights on( the more on the better the signal). No more running cable wherever i wanted my computer or no phone lines for DSL. Its also slightly cheaper that cable and dsl also. I recommend it to anyone that lives in an area that has clearwire internet access!"Age has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge, learning, respect, attitude, or personality." -yardhippie "Fight the air, and the air will kick your ass!!! Gawain 0 #3 March 31, 2007 Their web-site indicates speeds comparable with some DSL speeds. I'd like to know if anyone is signed up with Verizon's FiOS service. That seems like the real sh*t right there. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! That seems like the real sh*t right there. My son in Hillsborough county (down by Tampa) got Verizon FIOS as soon as it was available (along with what seems like a majority of bright house's customers down there) and it is the bomb-diggity! Great TV pix and sound, very fast internet speed and even included the wireless router at not extra charge. Add to all that around a 33% reduction in monthly cost compared to bright house and you've got a winner. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
d_squared431 0 #5 March 31, 2007 I have had clearwire for almost 6month and I think it is faster than DSL. No bandwich that I know of. By August they are going to have a smaller tower basically a flash drive plug in so you don't have to take the tower every you go. For older laptops there will be a d-link looking thing. The problem is clearwire is only in selected cities and states right now. They are working on that.TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly
