shropshire 0 #1 April 9, 2007 We've had some great weather this Easter weekend in the U.K... so I've dusted down my bike ready to be Taxed, MOT'd and insured for the summer ahead... Safe riding folks.... (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome
Scoop 0 #2 April 9, 2007 Its funny you say this, having been in your neck of the woods this weekend (Ludlow) visiting my uncle he took great pleasure in showing me his Africa Twin and ZZR1100. I'm gonna do it and finally get my bike licence. Been meaning to for ages... just as soon as I get back from Emp! Plus my posting at work is probably down the best biking road this side of the county. What could be better than riding to and from work in summer, blasting past the traffic, saving the petrol from my fuel hungry car and starting the day on a high

Slappie 9 #4 April 9, 2007 So is it left hand drive too? Lookin good man... here in the states we call the Sporty's a "chic bike" "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." Scoop 0 #7 April 9, 2007 The Africa Twin not my cup of tea but my uncle getting on in life now and started doing a lot of touring as opposed to weekend blasts so suits him. The ZZR1100 however (Its a Kawasaki by the way) , although being a sports tourer, is fast as fuck and scared the shit out of me being on the back of it. He got it when it was the fastest standard motorcycle, I believe before the Blackbird come out. I know its always a mixed reaction on here when people have stated what bikes they might get but I may well look at a good sporty all rounder. Something like a CBR 600. Common as muck so get bits for them, not a balls out sports bike either but plenty powerful enough to kill myself on if I try hard enough. And as for the whole traffic thing.... if its safe to do what you want to do, go for it. As long as you can hold your hands up and admit it when your caught out or identify when your putting someone else at risk and wind it in for a while, its all good. Traffic doesn't interest me and I hate traffic officers

ladyskydiver 0 #11 April 9, 2007 I'm jealous! It's been too frickin' cold here to get my cycle going for the season. Have a safe and wonderful riding season. Life is short! Break the rules! SkymonkeyONE 4 #13 April 9, 2007 It's NEVER too cold to ride in Z-hills. I have to go get my back tire replaced tomorrow due to the third-gear smokey burnout I did in the bar last two weeks ago. Lovely.
normiss 898 #14 April 9, 2007 hmmm...my brand new tire is sitting in the garage right next to the one it needs to replace....from my 5th gear burnout in the bar! Very lovely indeed....we gotta stop letting Bob get us into those.... do me a favor and ask them a question too...ask them the widest tire for your bike IF you drop the belt guard...Lakeland might actually know...the dealers in Orlando only know what the book tells them...on the old FXR frames...you could get a 160 on them...they now say the road glide takes a custom made 144...wtf???
