Freefly710 0 #1 April 10, 2007 At the school I attend, in a club newspaper a survey was published about washing after using the restroom. 100 students were surveyed, and amazingly, only 16 answered that they always washed! So, maybe I'm a little to conscience about hygene....but I'm curious...do you always wash your hands after using the restroom?

I use the 'foot flush' method, so no touching of the b-room hardware. I also shower daily (believe it or not), coupled with clean clothes. My junk should be just as clean as the rest of my body. In fact, I'd be more apt to wash my hands after a sneeze.Goddam dirty hippies piss me off! ~GFD "What do I get for closing your rig?" ~ me "Anything you want." ~ female skydiver Mohoso Rodriguez #
monkycndo 0 #8 April 10, 2007 In my HazMat course, the instructor said it is a better idea to wash your hands BEFORE you pee. Think of all the nasty stuff you touch throughout the day and then either shake or wipe with those dirty hands after using the toilet. Just something to think about.50 donations so far. billvon 3,111 #13 April 10, 2007 >but I'm curious...do you always wash your hands after using the restroom? Not always after peeing. That's probably the cleanest part of my body down there (wash it in the morning, it stays under clothing for the rest of the day) and even urine is sterile in healthy people. Indeed, washing your hands, drying them, then grabbing the door handle exposes you to a lot more pathogens than avoiding that step; dry skin is a much better barrier to pathogens than wet skin. However, it is a good idea for most people to wash your hands a few times a day, so I usually do it anyway.

IanHarrop 42 #16 April 10, 2007 I have a friend that is blind. Once when we were out somewhere together I took him to the washroom and when he was done using the urinal I told him the sinks were about 10 feet away directly opposite the urinals. His response, "I didn't piss on my hands." sharimcm 0 #22 April 10, 2007 When I am at home, I don't always wash my hands. At work or public places, YES, I ALWAYS wash my hands after I use the restroom. But, when I am at work, I am constantly washing my hands anyway. The boys I work with are dirty, so who knows what they've had their hands on (or in). I keep a pack of travel Wet Ones in my car to use after fueling up. I wash my hands after the UPS driver makes me sign his board with their pen. I use hand-sanitizer before I eat on the go. I wash my hands before and after I cook. But, then again, that wasn't the original question, was it?
