Michele 1 #26 April 5, 2007 QuoteI think she's already got 7 cats in addition to the outside kitties she provides food for. Is that correct Michele, or is my count off? Yes, the count is right. The housekitties, and then the outside kitties all need food and lovin, and sometimes vet care. So I'm at my limit, both emotionally as well as financially and room wise. I can't take any more, Lisa, sorry. But when the time comes, I'll do what I can to help you find new homes. But why don't you want to take them with you? LisaH, go ahead and try the shirt trick. There's something about that which really seems to work...as you can see by the shirt stories on this thread. Don't understand it, but it does work. tigra 0 #27 April 5, 2007 QuoteQuoteAll cats have their mood swings, just like the women do.... And they are girl kitties so I'm doubly doomed! I've shared my home with several cats over the years, and my male kitties have always been more even tempered, sweet and less moody than the females. Don't get me wrong, I love our little girl kitty, but moody is an understatement. And she's a sweetheart compared to most other female cats I've known- mine and others! LisaM 0 #28 April 5, 2007 What a sweet story! Maybe I can try that with Lucy who cannot stand to be held. The only time she'll let me hold her is to pick her up so she can reach the magnets on the fridge and pull them all off and watch them fall on Maya's head. How do you get your kitty to have a bed???? Mine sleep everywhere and anywhere. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
tigra 0 #29 April 5, 2007 My cat Spike LOVES to pull the magnets off my fridge. Its so funny to watch him when he's in magnet mode! I swear this guy has OCD! He gets so determined. If you put them back up, he knocks them down again. And then he'll go for weeks without touching them! If it isn't magnets, he's "stalking" the algae eater in the aquarium- only the one fish, he ignores the rest, or going to town on a roll of TP. He can shread a roll of toilet paper in less than 2 minutes!
LisaM 0 #30 April 5, 2007 Lucy is the same way. She jumped for a magnet the other day before I had it fully on the fridge! I was in the line of fire and got scratched. Silly kitty! I find it very interestyng the different obsessions each one has. Maya will dig in the bathroom trash and destroy each and every kleenex she finds in there and spread it all over the place. Lucy could care less about kleenex. Lucy has a feather toy with a stick attached for me to dangle. She will drag that thing all over the house. The stick is longer than her and it's banging on stuff behind her but she doesn't care. They are so damn cute! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
sharimcm 0 #31 April 5, 2007 Quote How do you get your kitty to have a bed???? Mine sleep everywhere and anywhere. I went and bought her a leopard print bed to match my living room decor. She still sleeps in it from time to time, but at night she sleeps on my pillow with her butt on my shoulder. A few times I would get a tail in my mouth in the middle of the night. It's a 'poppable' bed that can be folded in to three different shapes... A bed, a couch, and a cube she can hide in. And, it has catnip in the bottom pouch, so she LOVES it when it's a cube. The catnip scent is better accessible. PLFXpert 0 #32 April 5, 2007 QuoteWe have had them both since November. This has been within the past month or even few weeks she has been this way. My "precious angel" Sabre (kitty) didn't seem to mind Cruz (doggie) until the last couple months, too. Animals go through phases just like people do. Sabre seems to be over it, now. But, when it's Sabre's time. IT'S SABRE'S TIME! (to be petted & dotted on) And Cruz only needed to learn that lesson once, apparently.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. LisaM 0 #33 April 12, 2007 Just an update, if anyone cares. 2 days after Dad came home, Maya was her happy meowing self again. She must have thought I sent him away or something. She was holding her grudge at me. She never curled up on his tshirt. Silly kitty! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
Michele 1 #34 April 12, 2007 LOLing...thought so. She's just missing Dad...and you're there to take it out on. Have him do the whole teeshirt thing, so she'll associate him and it. It's great when they get back to their old selves, isn't it? Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
