OSLO, Norway

Recommended Posts

Going to Norway to do some...uhhh.....yeah. And dont worry....no object burning here, I'm sneaky :P

I also have a few friends who are coming with.....why, because we have never been to Oslo and just decided to show up and see what its all about. So we will be wandering around trying to have a good time and checking out the museums, viking stuff, tryvann tower, etc. Thanks again for the heads up on the city.

Everyone says is the most expensive city they have ever been too. What do you mean by "expensive"? ie. what does a typical meal cost?

thanks again to all for the info.

But they do have good coffee, right?

Really good coffee. But you'd have to go outside Oslo to find the "Karsk"" variety.

I thought I'd post a pic of the tower.

It's not as tall as it looks. Fun with a wide angle lens.

Price of food depends on where you go. Typical price for dinner in tourist trap in western central Oslo would be about 150 NKR for the food only, that's about 25 USD, eastern central Oslo vietnamese or chinese would easily be as low as 100 kr (roughly 16 USD), if you're happy munching a kebab in the street it could be as low as 40 NKR (6.5 USD), McDonalds &Co exist in Oslo too, but after a food poisoning, I don't eat there anymore, so can't tell. Kaffistova could be a good place in cetral Oslo near the main street. Genuine norwegian fast food for as low as 100 NKR. I used to work there, so I know what the kitchen looks like.

The fact that you're coming to Oslo "just to see the city" makes my nationalistic ego grow to unhealthy proportions.

:D
