Basically it is 128 bit IP addressing, IPv4 is 32 bit. There is more to it, basically better functionality, but not going to get into that... As for the data center tier system, that is actually more of a standard of availabity, back up power, cooling and facillities based on standards set forth by Uptime Institute. here is info for that one My last two jobs (one still currently) had me working as a Technical Site Engineer for Tier 4 Data Centers. Some pretty sweet shit , but can be boring as shit when things are slow.
