Looking for ZP in olive drab

so on cutaway finding the main will be next to impossible

I hope it works that well, but it's doubtful.

I can't even find a mention of Olive Drab ZP. The closest thing i've found is a translucent ZP used on the 3rd generation T-10 canopies.

Does anyone have a source for the translucent F111 or ZP material used in the T-10's?

Hydroguy's primary discipline is BASE. Stealth is a big consideration, and if you cut away in flight, finding the canopy is going to be the least of your worries.

Check with Gary Douris at Freeflite in Elsinore, he usually has O/D fabric laying around.

I think if you find any olive drab material it won't be ZP as most military rounds use the non coated fabric(often called F1-11). The MC-4 HALO canopys also use this type of fabric and its a very light shade of gray and can be quite difficult to see in the air compared to other canopies. The newer hybrid military canopies that use ZP use a medium gray color on the top skin with a lighter color gray non ZP material on the bottom skin. The question is, do you want the canopy to be hard to see while on the ground or while in the sky? If it's both, your best option is to go with a light to medium gray ZP material especialy if you plan to be in the sky around dusk or hours of darkness.

Olive drab stands out in the sky during the daytime and at night it looks like a big black blob. The gray is more difficult to see both during the day and night.

Thanks for the input people.

Good call on Strong Enterprises, Pete. They definately have something that will work for me. I sent them an email and asked for their input...being that building stealthy canopies looks like a large chunk of their biz.
