Got a suit, but what type of tie is in?

I ahve a funeral to go to and I have a medium to dark gray suit, but my ties are out of date. The wife wants me to get a new tie for the funeral. What is in now?

Twas the day years ago, it had to be striped, then paisly, then geometric, then a solid monochromatic color. I'm clueless these days as the circles I run in no one wears a suit for anything. Even most funerals and weddings. But I prefer a suit for a funeral.

Since it is for a funeral, I would wear a solid white shirt with a solid black tie.

Get a bolo tie. It's the only type of tie I'll wear.

Get one that does't cry out, "Look at me, look at me". Solid or with simple pattern in a darker color is best.

Something subdued... black, grey, dark green, or burgundy, either solid or a simple pattern that isn't really obvious.
