Blink 1 #1 October 5, 2006 At my local dropzone, I've been told that when you buy a container, it's usually good for 3 downsizes (not wear wise, but that it can fit 3 sizes). However, I have emailed RW and SP about this, and they said they recommend only the sizes they list, and one down from it. I.E. V348M is built for 170 main, but they said it could handle a 150 no problem. Now, would it be possible (safe), to fit 3 sizes in a container. I've read about people doing it on here, so hopefully it's safe. Second question, J3K for example (sized for 170), would 170 be the mid range, or high end. What I mean is, if you could fit 3 canopies in there, would they be 135, 150, 170, or 150, 170, 190. Thanks guys, I tried searching but couldn't find the answer. EDIT: These would all be ZP canopies

I'd trust the manufacturer's opinions on this far more than I would anybody else's opinions. QuoteI've read about people doing it on here, so hopefully it's safe. Just because people do things does not mean that what they are doing is safe.
AllisonH 0 #3 October 5, 2006 It might depend on the container - when I got my Wings I was told by the manufacturer that I could squeeze a 170 into it (and they were right, it was tight), have a 150 fit nicely (it does), and still be able to put a 135 in safely (haven't tried this yet). dragon2 2 #4 October 6, 2006 It depends on which rig, which size and which canopies. For example we have a lot of Atom size 00 here. These can hold a Merit 170 (older F111/ZP canopy) and go down to a ZP120 safely. Airlocked 107 would also work. But the reserve is a 128-115 so the combo Merit 170 + Techno 128 doesn't look too smart to me although we have quite a few of those. Another example: a Voodoo container is really only made for one size canopy only, it doesn't close nicely (or it closes too nice!) with any other size. Anyway, try to avoid having to pack a too big main into your container when you're just learning to pack, you'll regret it! ciel bleu, Saskia
