BelskyBlueEyes 0 #1 April 18, 2007 Anyone ever been on one of these? I went on a regular cruise one time. It was ok. But Carnival is sort of the 'bargain' brand. Had always wanted to try a Windjammer cruise, but that was before I ever went on the regular cruise. Is it very different? Fun? I need some good vacation ideas. I need to plan something. ladyskydiver 0 #2 April 18, 2007 Haven't been on a Windjammer cruise, but they look interesting. If you do it, let me know how you liked it. As for regular cruise line, I went on Royal Caribbean and loved it! Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
wmw999 2,587 #3 April 18, 2007 i went on one a few years ago. It was an eclipse cruise, which meant that the whole ship was taken up by astronomy buffs. it was probably the best vacation in my life. That's partly because of all the astronomy, but even so, going to all those small islands, where the big ships can't dock, is still an advantage. if I were to do another cruise, it would be a Windjammer. lilDevil 2 #6 April 18, 2007 But Carnival is sort of the 'bargain' brand. LMAO thats funny, I worked for Carnival for 6 years, did you know they also own some of the other cruise lines, as in Cunard, Costa, Holland America and there are a few others I cant remember off the top of my head, each line caters for different types of people, Carnival shipsare known as the funn ships for younger people, Holland America for older people, but I would reccomend an Alaska cruise if you want different RCCL nice ships``````````````````````````````````` " Cant keep a good woman down " Angels have wings, but devils can fly ! airdvr 210 #7 April 19, 2007 On our way back from Aruba we sat next to a couple who had just finished a Windjammer. They were raving about it. Got back 2 weeks ago from a RCCL Western Carribean. My beer cruise. Like anything some good and some bad but we had 4 kids with us. I want to go without the little terrors. Even so I can see myself wanting something more exciting and with alot less old folks. BTW...this was my SO's 23rd cruise. She doesn't have anything good to say about Carnival. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
Thanatos340 1 #8 April 19, 2007 Carnival SUCKS!!! I will never deal with them again. Several years ago I had bought my parents a cruise for their anniversary. There was supposed to be 4 of us going (My Parents and myself and GF). 3 Days before we were supposed to leave, My father dies of a sudden Heart attack.. NO Warning at all. 52 years old and in perfect health.. No I had not bought the trip insurance. I called tem up explained the situation and asked if we could reschedule. Nope. They said either be on the boat when it sails or loose your money (Right at $2,000 total). They were pretty rude about the entire thing. Not a "we are sorry for your loss". Nothing. We Joked about loading up the casket and heading down.
