skygirlpc 0 #1 April 19, 2007 So I have a 4lb Min-pin puppy and I am supposed to be flying out to Dallas next month. I have heard that you are allowed to bring them as carry-on. I was just looking for any help in planning this. She is my first pet and I don't ever fly commercially so the whole thing is totally new to me. Thanks for the help! Icon134 0 #2 April 19, 2007 I don't think my dog was ever 4lbs... so although I wish I could help... I can't... good luck though.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
skydivegirl 0 #3 April 19, 2007 Call the airline and make sure you can bring him. Airlines usually have a limit to the number of animals allowed in the cabin. When I flew with my dog a few years ago, Delta allowed only 2 pets so I had to reserve my dog's slot (I also had to pay $45). Some airlines won't allow pets though so definitely call to be sure.Pink Mafia Sis #
yardhippie 0 #4 April 19, 2007 What she said, and you'll need to add time to your check in, and security delays also. oh, and hope that the climb/decent doesnt affect its ears and it starts whining/barking. Others will mostly want to strangle you for that. Good luck. skygirlpc 0 #5 April 19, 2007 Thank you! Yeah, I will talk to the airline and I have already talked to my vet and was told that she (my vet) may give us some doggy valium to help keep my puppy calm. Thanks, this is all a huge help! "Life is either a great adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller
skydivegirl 0 #6 April 19, 2007 My experience was that my dog was calm and quiet once we were in the air. Waiting around for boarding was a another story. She thought there was way too much action going on around her and that I was being so mean not to let her out of her crate. Good luck!
