Slappie 9 #2 April 20, 2007 Ok I'm scared. Depends on the drill, if it's cordless put it in REV hold onto the chuck. No not Skymonkeyone... the chuck is the end. It should release the bit. Put the new size in and select FWD to tighten it. If it's an older one, there should be a "chuck key" that fits into the chuck and you use it to loosen and tighten the chuck around the bit. karenmeal 0 #11 April 20, 2007 Errr... Now I'm having trouble drilling the 1/2' hole. The drill bit keeps getting stuck and I think the battery is dying on the drill. Grrr... I want my cam-eye up and running!! Edited to add: and with my eye-hole bleeding and all.. this is really a chore. I stuck a maxi-pad to my cheek though and that is helping. karenmeal 0 #16 April 20, 2007 It's done and it's booooootiful. Now I don't have to turn my camera on when we're still two minutes out and make someone check my red light. jdthomas 0 #23 April 21, 2007 use caution when drilling on helmets as your camera can get the drill dust in it and short it out. i fried a camera because I did not get all the carbon fiber material cleaned up after a drilling of the helmet.. 850$ camera fried and gone to the trash! i called sony to get it fixed but it would cost more to fix then the price of a new camera. good job on the helmet, it looked like good work. joewww.greenboxphotography.com
karenmeal 0 #24 April 21, 2007 I used a vacuum to suck the dust out.. hopefully that worked. But then I took it on three jumps.. that probably cleared the dust out pretty good. I tried the air out method as well and thought everyting was good to go. I am not sure if i got the carbon fibre from the helmet or the work area even though I thought i did a very good clean up. Sounds like you did a good job if you have had no problems. I wish that I had done so.www.greenboxphotography.com
