Skydiving Type Shirts.

Recommended Posts

I wore an artsy shirt that was made by a friend of mine to the drop zone this weekend, and it got tons of comments on where I got it, and how they can get some. They are all very simplistic in nature, but very neat.

One of the guys asked me to post up a link here on Dropzone, so you guys and girls can get ahold of these shirts aswell.

The website is http://www.fullbleed.org Its by a designer named Rob Dobi.

Let me know what you think!

Love them!

The cost is really great too... I get so pissed off when I see stores selling t-shirts for $40 or $50

Yeah, he also comes out with about 10-14 new shirts every 3-4 months, so its nice to get a bunch of new designs in as well. I'll go shirtless before I pay 40 dollars for a shirt

Me too!.... errr... wait... that doesn't work for girls... ;) Anyway, tell him kuddos on his designs.... and he really could be selling them for a ton more... just check out www.urbanoutfitters.com .... I love their t-shirts, but they're ridiculously over priced most of the time!

Those are some cool designs by the way.

The following is coming from a tightwad cheapskate and moderate environmentalist:

My brother used to work for Patagonia and this is what they determined when looking at total costs of producing their t-shirts, both short and long term. The costs listed are from about 8 years ago. The average high quality t-shirt uses 1 pound of raw cotton and 3/4 of a pound of chemical fertilizer and pesticides to grow that cotton. Then add in all the chlorine to make that cotton brilliant white. Next treat the fabric with an agent to make it ready for dyeing. Now dye that perfectly white fabric some other color and apply some printing. The cost for the consumer of a domestically produced t-shirt would be around $15. But, if the consumer were to pay upfront all the future clean up costs of those chemicals due to the environmental damage to the soil and water, the cost of that shirt would be in the $30-40 range. And I'm not talking the higher profit margins of boutique/ big name brands. Just food for thought.

Patagonia has since gone to organic unbleached cotton with natural dyes where possible and have worked with the cotton producers to create naturally grown colored cotton varieties.

That said, I am guilty of buying those conventionally produced shirts and am way to cheap to buy any $50 t-shirt.
50 donations so far. Give it a try.

Wow I just checked out the urban outfitters link and they sell some of full bleed's shirts and they have marked them way up.

Told ya! :P

Back when I used to have money to shop..... (aka: before I decided to start skydiving) I would shop at urban a lot... but only the sale stuff.... I don't think I've ever bought a thing from there at full price... their sales are pretty good, but the original prices are insane..... my friend has been known to go in there and come out $500 poorer :S
