karenmeal 0 #26 April 26, 2007 I definitely dream! I want to spend my weekends having fun, backpacking, skydiving.... someday I will learn to kayak and snowboard.. I want to be a sucessful and effective speech language pathologist.. I want my clients and colleagues to respect my work and recommend me.. I want to help improve the quality of life of my (future) clients and to help them in whatever way that I am able to.. I want to travel to out of the way places.. I want to do video part-time.. I want to go to Lost Prairie every year... I want a nice house, on the small side, but something that my boyfriend and I can work together on renovating and designing to suit us. I want to paint the rooms bright happy colors, hang my tie-dye art all over the house, have a tropical plant and bonsai collection, have a fish tank with some pirahnas, have a nice big fruit and vegetable garden that I can use to can things, make jam and make wine from... I want my boyfriend to be happy and to find a career which he enjoys.. I want him to help me build a wonderful life.. I just want to have fun and be happy doing the things that I like to do. Icon134 0 #27 April 26, 2007 Quote I wonder why, too. Not that you're not doing it is wrong or anything; I'm just curious as to why. I'm not saying I haven't in the past or don't imagine I will again some day dream of greatness in the future... I guess more or less its just a contentment (at the moment)... now that doesn't necessarily mean I won't become motivated to change things again in the future... its just that... right now... I'm content... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
PLFXpert 0 #28 April 26, 2007 If the object is to overcome desire, wanting the shiny BMW M3 in the first place would mean you've already missed your mark. Now that's disappointing. No, I'm not missing your point. And I agree with the goal (not worrying or feeling bad about what you don't have). We have, however, completely different ideas of how to accomplish said goal. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

gonzalesna 1 #30 April 26, 2007 I'm hating that song right now about as much as kelel's hating november rainSome people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
Royd 0 #31 April 26, 2007 Only after I say to myself,"That would be cool to do." After that I let the chips fall where they may. Life is like a river, and I'm just flotsam.
