My rigging lesson for the day...

It is no secret - one of my least favorite rigs to pack is a wings. It is damn near impossible for me to make it look good. I think this must be from the first wings I packed - the more experienced rigger told me - "pack it like a javelin" so I did. Then I would get more tips from other riggers about how much to put in the ears, how much to shorten the loop, where to put the pilot chute...blah blah blah.

So tonite, I'm packing another wings - dreading in the back of my mind the ugly mess that would be my finished pack job. So I pull up the manual on my computer and refresh myself on where everything goes and decide - screw the tricks, I'm going to do it just like the manual says...(what a novel concept!)

Not only is it the best looking wings pack job I've ever done, I would wager it is one of the best looking wings pack jobs I've ever seen! (If I do say so myself! )

My lesson for tonite? RTFM.
