SARLDO 0 #1 September 22, 2006 OK, looking to order a wings H/C system. Pretty new at this but I'm looking to fit a 210 tiathlon main (or equivalent) and a Smart 190 reserve into it. My question is this: What sizes could i safely downsize in this container in the future (after a couple hundred jumps or so)?"Always do right. skybytch 273 #2 September 22, 2006 You could safely put a 170 in a container sized for a 210. But realistically, by the time you're ready for a 170 you'll probably be ready for a new, smaller container. Nice thing about buying a rig that size is that they are pretty hard to find on the used market. When it's time for you to get something smaller you should have no problem selling it quickly. SARLDO 0 #3 September 22, 2006 Thanks! :-) It is hard to find a container that size (the reason i'm going custom). I'm going broke renting..."Always do right. Of course that is if your exit weight is under about 225/230 pounds. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
SARLDO 0 #5 September 22, 2006 Thanks. Current exit WT is about 200 lbs. I know I am not ready to downsize below 200 yet, although I am standing up all my landings with no wind on a 230. I just figured that after about 150-200 jumps I might want to go smaller. Don't want to skip meals for a week to buy a rig if it's not going to serve my purposes long term."Always do right. Where are you eating!? $1000 is a fine week of dining (and drinking!) I sized my wings for a Sabre (9 cell) 210, put a Tri 220 in it, now a Tri 210, and in time a (liikely 9 cell) 190 in it later. If I ever get to the 170, I can reevalutate, or cheat with a big packing canopy like a Lotus.
SARLDO 0 #7 September 22, 2006 OK, only spend about the cost of 8 jump tickets a week on food (I need to eat less and jump more) but you got the idea. Thanks for the gouge "Always do right.
