DougH 270 #3 April 29, 2007 I never flew in a skyvan, but I didn't find the CASA to be overly loud when I went to Lake Whales and ZHills this Jan. It was a blast though!! BillyVance 34 #5 April 30, 2007 Quote Carolina sky sports..... CASA's kick ass...... totaly different than a skyvan (think hi speed pass) I believe that CSS owns all the Casas in skydiving in the U.S. Don't they have 4 of them? Don't ask me which one was louder, I don't fucking care. However, I have read that when the C-123 of movie fame was flying jumpers at Skydive Arizona, it was about the loudest plane ever used."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

PhreeZone 20 #8 April 30, 2007 At this point SGC will not be having a CASA much this summer. Lake Wales and SGC get their birds through CSS and most the CASA's are doing boogies or military contracts this summer.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

If I remember, they were both pretty comparable except the girls sitting next to the wing strut kept screaming every few minutes....I wonder why? Personally, I think CASAs are slow, except on jump run. They're loud, but meh, so are most large turbine aircraft with no sound dampening material. If you want loud, go jump the Southern Cross DC-3.Goddam dirty hippies piss me off! ~GFD "What do I get for closing your rig?" ~ me "Anything you want." ~ female skydiver Mohoso Rodriguez #
4201 0 #16 April 30, 2007 Their both pretty ****in loud, but i think the sky van is louder. The sky van is so loud, and vibrating, that when i'm at SDA, I try to get on otter loads instead.
foxyroxtail 0 #17 April 30, 2007 Quote and vibrating Mmmmm, yes. The Casa even has a couple of VERY special seats that women have been known to fight over. Explains the screams ever few minutes as well... I guess it's not loud enough to drown those out. ________________________________________

Plus, there's no gap between the floor and the door for any miscellaneous gear like a helmet to roll out of on a Casa like some skyvans have.
