kenz 0 #1 May 1, 2007 just thought i'd make that statement - i was having a rough night tonight thinking about some things that have transpired in my life especially this past month and i first started listening to ryan montbleau who is another fabulous blues man - but it got me a little teary eyed as it reminded me of one of my last memories with laura...so i decided to go to johnny's page to see what was up with his tour and his song "thankful" came on - and wow what a kick in my ass to motivate me and be greatful and thankful for all of the positive things in my life - again another story to show how powerful music can be - one song put things into perspective - tomorrows a new day - and cheeseball as it may seem i am greatful for every tomorrow god gives me.... if you have an opportunity to check him out live he is AMAZING - i have been fortunate enough to see him twice and holy shit the boy can play - its seriously more than just a show - GO SEE HIM thankful Someones standing in a welfare line Or off the freeway with a hungry sign Someones stressing bout to lose their mind I gotta be thankful, thankful Someone just became a single mother Someone just lost a sister or brother Its so important that we love each other And be Thankful, thankful Ive gotta take the time to say, that Im Thankful, thankful For every single breath that I take Ive gotta be thankful, thankful Someones sitting in a prison cell Wasting away in their own personal hell Everybodys got their own story to tell Ive gotta be thankful, thankful Man, I used to think I didnt have a lot Now I realize just how much Ive got Now every day Im gonna take the time and stop to be Any one of these so easily could have been me But if it had not been for grace and mercy who knows where Id be Ive been riding on this roller coaster ride Round and round Ive seen the up and downside And Im here to tell you that the secret of life is being"life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me
Bones 0 #2 May 1, 2007 Nice timing on the song. I remember going to see "Kid" Johnny Lang in Minneapolis eight or ten years ago when I was doing my Residency. It was funny--he was playing in places that he wasn't old enough to be in.
PRSKY71 0 #3 May 1, 2007 I think he is extremely talented. I got his first CD when it first came out years ago and although I haven't followed up with his music lately, I really like his music (lyrics included).Character cannot be made except by a steady, long continued process. -- Phillips Brooks
