Using the word "you" instead of "your"

I see that mistake so often, as in:

Get you knees in the breeze.

Do people even realize it is wrong? Is it one of those internet abbreviation conventions, just to save one letter?

That one doesn't bother me that much. I give folks credit for having just dropped the "r" rather than thinking they really intended it that way.

What gets me is when folks write "could of".

Come on! When you hear "could of" what you should really be hearing is could've, or could have. I totally understand the mistake, since could've sounds just like could of, but just think the words through for a second.

Anytime I've ever done that it was because I was typing too fast and sent the message without bothering to go back and proofread (or I did and missed it). I've never done that on purpose.
