BillyVance 35 #1 May 10, 2007 This lady lives in a Hummingbird fly zone. As they migrated, about 20 of them were in her yard. Just for a lark, she took a little red dish, filled it with sugar water-- and these are the results. These pictures are amazing! And no, there's nothing sick about these. karenmeal 0 #3 May 10, 2007 I have to try that! I have three that frequent the feeder outside my office window. They come around about every five minutes or so. dweeb 0 #5 May 10, 2007 That's amazing. I should try setting out dishes of sugar water out back of my place and see if I can at least get them to eat from those. I'm on a canyon and get hummingbirds all the time.

pinkfairy 0 #8 May 10, 2007 Wow! They are so cute! Sir Davind Attenborogh said that they were especially attracted by red color, so red is a good choice. You can buy special feeders for them that you fill with sugar water. I'm sure they appreciate a free snack on their way. I gotta see these for real. I've only seen them on TV and on pictures. They look so cool! Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet. I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you? willard 0 #10 May 10, 2007 Neat pics! I got attacked by a male Ruby Throated Hummingbird once while picking blackberries. I retreated and let him have his blabkberry patch. Can't defend against what you can't see coming
guppie01 0 #12 May 10, 2007 Quote They are extreemly fast. And Very aggressive! It's amazing that she has so many feeding around her at once.... The hummingbirds at my feeder fight over it, and will not allow another bird to feed while feeding. g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" Beerlight 0 #15 May 10, 2007 I just had my first yearly visit from one about 10 min ago. Gotta get the feeder up! I was at my mom's last year, she has 4 feeders up and we counted (no lie) 100 h-birds at one time....most were in holding patterns waiting for their turn! Beerlight 0 #18 May 10, 2007 Quote So who's their Air Traffic Controller??? it was like they had one i tell ya. Sometimes they touched, but mostly like a bat they stayed clear of each other. I stood between the feeders quietly (each one spaced about 3 feet apart) and they would fly within inches of my face. Cool sound all those flapping wings make.....
