Shotgun 1 #6 May 15, 2007 Ever heard of the Ukes of Hazzard? Ok, so they're not quite as good as the guy you posted...
JackC 0 #7 May 15, 2007 Nope. When someone says ukelele I usually think of this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxWK9keh3XI Edit: the Ukes of Hazzard... wtf?
DJL 235 #8 May 15, 2007 QuoteI thought the Ukelele was a joke Well, it IS a joke when you compare it to what can be done on the same song with an electric with an Amp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FZvIciF6ZI"I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

quade 4 #10 May 15, 2007 QuoteNope. When someone says ukelele I usually think of this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxWK9keh3XI Man, oh man. For my money there is only one guy I can ever think of when it comes to ukuleles and that's Cliff Edwards, also known better as "Ukulele Ike" or even FAR better known as the voice of Jiminy Cricket. http://www.redhotjazz.com/cliffedwards.html Amazing voice, amazing talent, after making millions for Disney, died penniless, discovered in the morgue one night at UCLA by some kid who, when he read the toe tag, remembered the name. Otherwise would have been burried in an unmarked grave for vagrants.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
ltdiver 3 #11 May 16, 2007 Brings back fond memories of my 2nd grade teacher who played ukelele and taught all of us to do the same. My dad took it upon himself to bring ukeleles home from Hawaii for all of us in 2nd grade and we learned how to play for our music class. Of course, as 2nd graders, none of us got anywhere -near- the talent of Jake (the guy's link you posted) but it started many of us on more artistic endeavors during our school years. Thanks for the link. Brought a smile to me today. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
