2fat2fly 0 #1 May 16, 2007 These idiots-I have cable service and the cable modem and everything went out Friday afternoon. I called and got the automated message saying there was an outage in my area-OK, I can deal we all have issues sometimes. Saturday afternoon i waded through the menues to talk with a person that told me someone would be out within a couple of hours so I cancelled our dinner reservations adn waited at home. After 3 hours I called back. There was no record of my call and it was after service hours so someone would be out between 8-12 Sunday. Mother's Day-remember. I explained that I had already donated enough of my time to Charter so someone would be there between 8-10. We argued about that for a bit and he finally conceded. As he's entering the work order (so he says) he starts giving me the pitch on phone service. "Dude, I have 2 services now and neither work. This is a bad time to try to sell. I confirmed the work order for both services and hung up. The service guy arrives at 10:45 and is totally surprised that high speed is out. It wasn't on the work order. He has to go get more equipment and I don't get back up and running until Sunday evening. Monopolies make you complacent. I wish that if you can prove how much time you waste with a company, you could bill them at your normal salery rate.I am not the man.
