riggerrob 643 #1 August 30, 2006 FICHE_INFO_MAT_24.pdf Eric Fradet (Technical Director at the Federation Francais de Parachutisme) sent me this e-mail about torn KARO main canopies built by Parachute Shop. It seems that KAROs open too hard at terminal velocity, breaking center A lines, etc., so the FFP is recommending limiting them to freefall delays of 10 seconds or less. The FFP believes that bottom skin vents are a contributing factor to these hard openings.
