livendive 8 #2 May 30, 2007 I got to fly in one of these last night, and we came within a gnat's ass of a birdstrike at 500' and 80 knots. That definitely puckered me. Outside of that, flying (and stalling) it was a hoot, and landing without power was pretty cool. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" BillyVance 35 #3 May 30, 2007 Damn birds... Kind of a weird result, farting fire like that... "Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

Dougjumper 0 #5 May 30, 2007 I might not be to happy if I was sitting behind the wing and looking through the window seeing that scenario going on..Damn
Beerlight 0 #6 May 30, 2007 gosh, i'm a pilot and I've never visited that site. Thanks. That a/c has excess power and can easily fly on one engine at gross takeoff weight..... to the pilots, it was probably just a minor inconvenience.....

I'd agree except for the whole flames right next to the fuel tanks thing. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" Beerlight 0 #8 May 30, 2007 sure, there's always a chance..... but, the engines housing is designed to contain a failure. (most of the time) edit to add: if you watch the vid carefully, it sure looks like the flames started before the bird strike?
