councilman24 37 #2 August 28, 2006 The Reflex is no longer on the market. Replacement parts and repairs are being handled by another company that is planning to remarket the rig under a different name and with some modifications. I have one from 1997 and like it. Both as a Master Rigger and as a jumper. But, some riggers will not pack it because the tightness of the reserve closing loop can be tightened after it's packed and out of the riggers control. The "rigger installed RSL" concerns me because it came with an RSL. If it's different from the factory it need's to be evaluated as appropriate. Also, depending on who added it it may be illegal. You'll either find jumpers that highly recommend the Reflex or are ambivalent and riggers who say it's fine or that won't touch it. The Triathlon is fine. I jump one also but in a different rig. If it hasn't had it there is a line set upgrade available for Triathlons of that age. The PD reserve is fine. The Vigil AAD has been on the market about 2 years. Some dealers still won't carry it. Others believe it is equal or better to it's main competitor the Cypres, now in it's second version. Search here for discussions. You don't list the price so can't comment. But, it sounds like you may be at the top end in size for the harness. Make sure it fits before you buy or have the right of return after inspection and trying it on. And how can you want the PC handle changed if you haven't bought a rig yet?I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE

billvon 3,111 #4 August 28, 2006 We are currently using 3 reflexes - I have two, Amy has one. They have been good to us. I put about 2000 jumps on one and it's just starting to show serious wear (popped stitching on binding tape, shark's tooth stitching coming out.) I like the reserve arrangement, and have had no problems with it. It's nice to know that nothing can get to your reserve pin without going through you or the rig first.
