tigra 0 #11 June 1, 2007 I had mine taken out with both my broken ankles. The hardware was painful and limiting my ROM. My first doc was strongly in favor of hardware removal once it had done its job. He brought it up before I even knew it would bother me, but sure enough it did! He was a sports medicine specialist used to dealing with professional athletes, which clearly, I am not! I had to sell my second doc on the idea but afterwards he was like, "Oh yeah, I can see how that would have been bothering you!" (Screws digging into tendons and catching on the muscle and all!)
