Brian425 0 #1 June 3, 2007 I am planning to paint my outside of my house this summer. I own an air copressor and was trying to figure out what is the best sprayer to get. I can buy an airless sprayer for $200 to $300 or I can look to get an attachment to put on my air compressor. Any advice or experience? Thanks The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
Misternatural 0 #2 June 3, 2007 air compressor driven guns tend to shoot the paint at such high velocity that much of it will bounce back in your face, plus filling that cup all the time can be a real drag, I tried it once with an HVLP and it did a better job (I think you can get a converter for your compressor), but you still have the cup to deal with. airless with a paint supply hose is the way to go. You using stain or paint? if stain then you're gonna need to brush back after spraying to keep it even.Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. 1969912 0 #3 June 4, 2007 Rent a professional airless sprayer. ything you can purchase for less than $300 or so is too wimpy. Brian425 0 #4 June 4, 2007 I'll be painting. I'll look into renting if I cannot get something decent for home work for around $300. I like tools and hate to rent anything. I figure that the cost of the tool just comes out the savings from doing it myself. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. CSpenceFLY 1 #6 June 4, 2007 I bought a $300 ball park airless and have used it several time. It works well. clean it well when you are done and run some oil through it. It's not something you would want to use everyday.

jm951 0 #10 June 4, 2007 For my remodelling and repair work, I recently bought the Wagner Paint Crew. It's an airless sprayer with a 2 gal capacity. I've shot decks and exterior walls with it and run both latex and oil based through it. So far, I've been pretty happy with the unit. It also has a roller attachment, but I haven't tried it yet. The unit works best when the paint has Flotrol in it. The only real difference between it and the pro units is the paint capacity. Pro units can be set into a 5 gal bucket. I also have a compressor with HVLP and conventional spray guns. I wouldn't even think of using them to paint a house. If you're careful, there is very little overspray, just keep the gun moving while you're shooting paint.
