burglarized

Recommended Posts

So I was burglarized today. Far as I can tell the only thing taken was my 1940 Mosin nagant 91/30. It was fully original/stock, and more importantly fully functioning, shooting 7.62*54….

We pretty much know who did it… just waiting for the f&^%ing crack-head to try to pawn it… Yes he is that stupid… Not only is he a crackhead, he is also the neighborhood thief… It figures the police can’t get him even though he has hit 4 houses this side and 4 on the other… It’s a husband and wife team. The while neighbor hood is good peoples except for the one house kaddy corner to our neighborhood.

It’s kind of hilarious… he has 1 eye… He lost it when his wife hit him with an iron (for clothes).

FYI, If he comes on my property again... It's gona be ugly... He might have found that weapon, but he didnt find "the" gun or "the" knife... he will find them in his body next time...

Sorry, needed to rant…

I'm not a lawyer but if you plan on Bernard Goetze-ing the guy, is it in your best interest to have a quote like "he will find them in his body next time" on a dicussion forum? Hard to say to a jury that it was not malisciously planned.
My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

...Because I'm not the type to do that anyway (I was just venting).

I will however highly protect myself or property if threatened with equal or lesser force if endangered

I know exactly how you feel. I've been burgled twice in the last fifteen years.

On the second occasion, the police accused me of trying to pull an insurance scam. That accusation nearly made me do something really stupid[temper temper].

However, time is a good healer and tho in the ideal world it would be nice
to leave the house unlocked these things tend to make you wise up to security and make things more difficult for a would be thief in the future..

I feel for you man. That sucks. I know how it feels. A few yrs. ago my next door neighbors son broke into our house 3 times. We knew it was him but couldn't really prove it. The last time was the final straw. I had the little S.O.B. backed over his car with my fist cocked back just ready to drill him when my wife caught my arm and reminded me that he was only 17. Had a major blow out with his parents and within the month they moved out. They wouldn't believe that their delinqent son would do that. Even though they had both done time themselves. Kinda funny that we never had that problem before they moved in and have never had the problem since they moved out. Hmmmm. I also at that time found out just how easy it was to get in my house without a key. Not that easy anymore. Deadbolts work quite well.

I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

I agree with you on wanting to see this guy get whats coming to him and I completely respect your right to defend yourself. Unfortunately the law leans toward bad guys and many honest people who have acted in what appeared to be justifiable self defence have found themselves in front of a judge. Remember criminals are "misunderstood victims", and anyone who god-forbid uses force on a criminal to protect themselves, ends up being painted as the bad guy. That is why I am very carefull to not ever say anything that could come back to haunt me. Since I sympathised with your frustration at having had your home violated and your valuables taken, I just didn't want to see you end up also having to pay out a huge lawsuit to this scum because of sinple venting on a discussion board. If he breaks into your home and you react in genuine fear causing him bodily harm, a jury may then have to decide whether or not they felt you acted in fear or out of malice. You don't want a quote like that being brought up by his lawyer, since they might not beleive you were just venting.

Best of luck, and maybe this guy will get plugged by some other home owner and save you the trouble.

Cheers

UPDATE.

I was checking online for a copy of my police report and found it.

There is a search function by st address... so I was curious about what else was going on in my neighborhood...

More info: Last night there were some cops driving towards my end of town at a fast rate of speed....

Forward to this morning. The house down the stree was shot at by unknown suspect... and unknown firearm... The house is a police officers house.

I wonder the chance that it was my weapon? The same guy?

Since the theft involved a firearm, the case could be handled Federally. Also, 'if' your gun was used to shoot-up a cops house, you have nothing to worry about. The rifle was reported stolen. Try to keep an eye on the guy you suspect and tell the police anything you feel might be helpful. I can understand your anger... you've been violated and it hurts. Keep your cool and your eyes open.;)

Yup! Over aperiod of time, every time I saw a vehicle in front of his house, I took the tag number. When it was all over, several of them had 'their day in court'! :D Cleared-up several car burglaries in the neighborhood. Did the same thing with a drug dealer, two doors down. He's coolin' his heels in a Federal pen.:D I had the help of a close friend of mine who was a cop at the time.
